Bring Stories to Life and Inspire Our Community.

At Rocky Bay, we believe in the power of storytelling, especially when it shines a light on the incredible journeys of the people we support.

We are looking for a passionate Communications & Content Officer to help us share these stories far and wide, across social media, our intranet and with media outlets.

This is a creative and hands-on role, perfect for someone who loves to write and has a knack for digital content with a focus on video for social media. This role supports someone who wants to grow in the communications and public relations space.

About the Role

You will be responsible for discovering and creating engaging customer stories that celebrate inclusion, achievement and the Rocky Bay community. These stories will be part of our internal communications and will also be pitched to local and regional media outlets to amplify awareness of the work we do.

In addition to storytelling, you will support the growth of Rocky Bay’s social media presence by creating original, creative content, with a particular focus on short-form video for platforms like Instagram and Facebook. You will also be able to create more corporate content for LinkedIn.

This role is suited to someone who is enthusiastic, willing to learn and is full of ideas. You will work closely with the broader marketing team to support campaigns, events and internal initiatives

What You Will Do

Identify and interview customers, families and staff to write creative, feel-good stories that celebrate inclusion, support and progress

  • Produce content for social media (especially short-form video, reels and snippets of what we do to grow our brand)
  • Pitch relevant stories to local media outlets across WA
  • Support internal storytelling across our customer newsletter, intranet and website
  • Use your creative photo and video skills to capture content that results in views and social media growth
  • Assist with social media scheduling, engagement and content planning
  • Assist the marketing team at internal and external events when required
  • Develop and coordinate Marcomms and Communications Plans, along with the greater Marketing team, to deliver an integrated approach to the promotion of brand and services
  • Support other marketing and communications activities as needed

 What You Need

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills with a creative flair and a clear, engaging tone
  • Social media experience, either personally or professionally with an understanding of what works on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Confidence and warmth when engaging with people
  • A collaborative, can-do attitude and a genuine passion for storytelling
  • Experience with tools like Canva, InShot, basic video editing or digital publishing will be highly regarded but not essential
  • If you have previously worked or studied in journalism or PR, or have connections with local media, that experience would be a great addition to the team

Benefits

  • Be part of a passionate, supportive team that celebrates creativity and purpose
  • Free on-site parking, access to fleet cars and generous salary packaging
  • A wide range of employee benefits including HBF Health discounts, 35% reduction with Alinta Gas, RAC assistance and servicing discounts, Commonwealth Bank product discounts to name a few
  • Bring a friend on-board and be rewarded with $2000!
  • Purchased Leave Program to increase annual leave up to 6 weeks each year
  • The opportunity to share your time between the office and working from home after probation period
