People and Culture Business Partner

Help shape the next chapter of People and Culture at Rocky Bay.

At Rocky Bay, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re evolving the way People and Culture partners with the organisation, with a greater focus on trusted advice, leader capability, employee experience and continuous improvement.

Rocky Bay is a leading provider of disability services, supporting thousands of children and adults across Western Australia to live with choice, independence and dignity.

We’re looking for a People and Culture Business Partner who wants to be part of that journey.

You’ll join a close-knit and energetic team and partner with leaders across our Corporate and Operational divisions, supporting the people matters that arise every day while also contributing to projects and improvements that will shape how we work in the future.

This isn’t a role where you’ll simply maintain existing HR processes. You’ll have the opportunity to bring ideas, challenge thinking constructively, build trusted relationships and help us develop practical, people-centred solutions.

Rocky Bay is a leading provider of disability services, supporting thousands of children and adults across Western Australia to live with choice, independence and dignity.

Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, this role offers a broad and meaningful portfolio and the opportunity to make a real contribution as our P&C function continues to evolve.

What you’ll be part of

  • A collaborative and genuinely supportive P&C team where ideas and different perspectives are welcomed
  • A P&C function moving beyond transactional HR towards trusted partnership, greater consistency and continuous improvement
  • An environment where you can contribute ideas, influence change and help improve how we work
  • A values-led organisation focused on making a meaningful difference for the people and communities we support
  • A role that gives you exposure to both the day-to-day realities of business partnering and broader P&C initiatives

About the role

As a People and Culture Business Partner, you’ll work closely with leaders and employees across your portfolio, providing practical, timely and thoughtful advice while helping leaders build strong and sustainable people practices.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Providing trusted advice, coaching and guidance to leaders and employees across a dedicated portfolio
  • Partnering with leaders on employee relations, performance and other people matters with confidence, sound judgement and care
  • Providing clear, practical advice on employment legislation, industrial instruments, policies and P&C practices
  • Using workforce data, reporting and insights to support informed decision-making
  • Building leader capability and confidence in managing people matters
  • Identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement across your portfolio
  • Contributing to P&C projects, process improvements and initiatives that support our future capability
  • Building strong relationships with leaders and stakeholders to develop practical, people-centred solutions
  • Contributing to the ongoing improvement of our P&C processes, systems and ways of working

About you

You’re a P&C professional who enjoys variety, values relationships and wants to play an active role in shaping a modern and effective P&C function.

You’re comfortable moving between operational people matters and more proactive work, and you know that being a great Business Partner is about more than providing an answer. It’s about understanding the situation, applying good judgement and helping leaders find practical ways forward.

You’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in a People and Culture, HR Business Partner or similar role supporting a diverse portfolio
  • A degree in Human Resources or a related discipline, or progress towards a relevant qualification
  • Sound experience across employee and industrial relations
  • The confidence to navigate ambiguity and have respectful, sometimes challenging conversations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build credibility and trusted relationships
  • A collaborative, approachable and solutions-focused mindset
  • Strong judgement and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A genuine interest in improving the employee experience and how P&C supports the organisation
