We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Senior Payroll Officer to join our HR team.  Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this is a full-time opportunity with some work from home flexibility.

What you need to do

In this role you will report to the Payroll Manager and be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Payroll Manager in the delivery of end-to-end payroll processing by coordinating and administering the payroll system to ensure the accurate payment of staff wages, salaries, and entitlements within specified time frames and in compliance with relevant awards, legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Owning the back end of the HRIS system and being the source of knowledge for the business on payroll system issues and fixes.
  • Maintain systems and data integrity across all Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) including Payroll systems
  • Maintain and update system parameters for leave, pay classes, allowances, deductions, STP requirements etc
  • Proactively identify and recommend opportunities to improve the efficiency and use of HRIS applications 
  • Provide advice, assistance, and reporting to all stakeholders in regard to all pay related matters

What you'll need to have

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High quality organisational skills and ability to work under pressure to tight timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate experience with the Microsoft products – Excel, Word, and Outlook. 
  • Experience in reading and interpreting industrial awards, enterprise agreements and legislation relevant to payroll.
