Rocky Bay is a leading provider of disability services, supporting thousands of children and adults across Western Australia to live with choice, independence and dignity. We are now seeking an experienced accountant to join our Finance team.

About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, this role will provide transactional support to processes across all Rocky Bay services. You will be responsible for supporting accurate and timely financial information which will deliver insights within our business and assist with continuous improvement across Rocky Bay.   

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join our team who enjoys a varied role working across both the transactional and analytical aspects of our business. You will be a key role assisting with month close process, statutory year end procedures, providing operational support and a variety of ad-hoc financial projects across our business.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain accurate financial records in accounting system.
  • Input of journal entries within the accounting system.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliation and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with end of month and year end close processes.
  • Assist with interim and year end statutory financial audits.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Monitor organizational performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Analysis of financial trends and provide recommendations to management.
  • Support across Rocky Bay business areas in understanding and interpreting financial results.
  • Prepare financial acquittals and reports for funding bodies and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and enhance financial process and reporting accuracy.

About you:

You are a proactive and detail oriented finance professional who combines strong technical accounting skills with exceptional analytical capability. You enjoy translating financial data into meaningful insights that support organisational performance and sustainability. You will have an analytical mind, excellent communication and a high level of attention to detail.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in an accounting role (5 years)
  • Degree qualified Accountant with CPA/CA professional certification
  • Strong technical knowledge, including month end processes, reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Competence in using excel to extract and review large volumes of data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A collaborative, approachable and solutions-focused mindset
  • High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience in disability, healthcare or community services (desirable)
