About the Opportunity:
In this rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and other allied health professionals to develop and implement personalised treatment plans that promote effective communication, swallowing, and overall quality of life
- Support customers in early childhood interventions, utilising your expertise in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and strategies to facilitate meaningful interactions and increase independence.
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing your valuable insights and recommendations for holistic customer care.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research, evidence-based practices, and innovative approaches in the field of Speech Pathology, continuously enhancing your skills and knowledge
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech pathology assessments and develop tailored intervention plans
- Provide evidence-based therapy across speech, language, fluency, mealtimes, and social communication
- Collaborate with families, educators, and allied professionals to promote meaningful communication and participation.
- Manage a varied caseload of NDIS and private clients with full support
- Liaises with the Clinical Operations Manager if there are performance concerns regarding the clinical practice of a staff member, especially during their probationary period
- Provides clinical guidance and leadership to therapists within own discipline across TS, supporting them in developing the fundamental skills, knowledge and competencies.
- Oversees the Learning & Development (L&D) needs of the discipline
- Coordinates, develops and/or conducts orientation/training in fundamental clinical skill development
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech Pathology and current Speech Pathology Australia membership
- Strong clinical reasoning skills and knowledge
- Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, autism, or complex needs, especially for early childhood interventions.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring allied health staff and working within an interdisciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel between sites
- A passion for making a positive difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Well-developed time management skills and ability to prioritise competing demands.
