Support Worker – Supported Accommodation

About the Role
As a Support Worker at Rocky Bay, you’ll support people living with disability to feel at home, build independence and live life on their terms.
Working within shared accommodation, you’ll provide hands-on support with daily routines, personal care, household tasks and mobility support. You’ll get to know each customer, understand what matters to them and support them to achieve their goals.
You’ll work with people with a range of sensory, physical and intellectual disabilities, including customers with complex needs and behaviours. Every customer is different, and your support will be tailored to the person.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily living activities including personal care, meal preparation, medication and household tasks
- Build positive, trusting relationships with customers
- Support customers to develop skills and independence
- Support customers with mobility, transfers, hoisting and other physical assistance as required.
- Follow person-centred support plans and respond to individual needs
- Maintain accurate case notes, timesheets and incident reports
About You
- Passionate about supporting people to live fulfilling and independent lives
- Reliable, patient and person-centred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible and confident supporting complex needs and behaviours
- Previous support work experience with complex disabilities is essential
- Experience or knowledge of Active Support, or willingness to learn
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is desirable
- Valid Driver’s Licence essential
