As a Respite Support Worker you'll have the opportunity to empower individuals with disabilities and their families by providing exceptional support and care.  Your role will be multifaceted ranging from assisting with daily living activities to promoting independence and providing a safe space for our customers to enjoy their respite stay. 

 

Support Worker Roster = 60 hours per fortnight

Week 1 = Mon/Thu/Fri 0800-1600

Week 2 = Mon/Tue 1600-2200, Fri/Sat/Sun 0800-1600

 

Support Worker Roster = 62 hours per fortnight

Week 1 = Tue/Wed 0800-1600, Thu/Sat/Sun 1600-2200

Week 2 = Wed/Thu 0800-1600, Sat/Sun 1600-2200

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with all aspects of daily living — including personal care, meal preparation, medication assistance and household tasks  — while consistently promoting dignity and respect
  • Communicate and build meaningful connections with customers, adapting interactions to meet each individual’s unique needs.
  • Encourage and take part in daily activities, including dance classes, swimming, and various social events
  • Safely and confidently operate modified vehicles to transport participants to appointments, activities, and community outings
  • Follow person-centred plans and assist individuals in working towards their personal life goals
  • Maintain accurate records of supports and services through timesheets, case notes, and incident reports

What we're looking for

  • A customer-focused individual with a genuine passion for supporting people to live fulfilling lives
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, respectful relationships
  • Flexibility and resilience when working with people with complex needs and behaviours
  • Have knowledge and experience in Active Support and are willing to learn
  • Valid Driver’s Licence (essential)
  • Cert III in Disability/Individual Support (Disability) – desirable but not essential
