About the Opportunity:

In this rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and other allied health professionals to develop and implement personalised treatment plans that promote effective communication, swallowing, and overall quality of life
  • Support customers in early childhood interventions, utilising your expertise in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and strategies to facilitate meaningful interactions and increase independence.
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing your valuable insights and recommendations for holistic customer care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, evidence-based practices, and innovative approaches in the field of Speech Pathology, continuously enhancing your skills and knowledge

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech pathology assessments and develop tailored intervention plans
  • Provide evidence-based therapy across speech, language, fluency, mealtimes, and social communication
  • Collaborate with families, educators, and allied professionals to promote meaningful communication and participation.
  • Manage a varied caseload of NDIS and private clients with full support
  • Liaises with the Clinical Operations Manager if there are performance concerns regarding the clinical practice of a staff member, especially during their probationary period
  • Provides clinical guidance and leadership to therapists within own discipline across TS, supporting them in developing the fundamental skills, knowledge and competencies.
  • Oversees the Learning & Development (L&D) needs of the discipline
  • Coordinates, develops and/or conducts orientation/training in fundamental clinical skill development

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech Pathology and current Speech Pathology Australia membership
  • Strong clinical reasoning skills and knowledge
  • Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, autism, or complex needs, especially for early childhood interventions.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring allied health staff and working within an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to travel between sites
  • A passion for making a positive difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Well-developed time management skills and ability to prioritise competing demands.
